Well, I've been out of the Sins loop for a
while. You know how it goes, new games come
along and you loose sight of the classics.
All of a sudden a fan of your work mails you
with the message that your crappy map no longer
works. You check the forums and... what the
hell? What is this entrenchment stuff?
Ah well, back to the drawing board!

So here it is, all Updated for Sins 1.16 and
Entrenchement 1.02!
Many thanks go out to Harpo99999 who has gone
through the trouble of updating the Babylon 5
map for the latest Sins versions, since I've
been too much of an arse to figure out how to
use his excellent conversion tool. Not only
did he do the conversion work, he also added
gave me some pointers on how to properly work
with his program.
So thank you Harpo99999, for giving Babylon 5 fans
out there another chance to explore the galaxy.

And might I say: thanks for saving me the trouble
to re-create this map from scratch, you are a time
saver!

Installation:
- For regular Sins of a Solar Empire
Drag the Babylon 5 (Single Planet).galaxy file to
the Galaxy folder where you installed Sins of a
Solar Empire.
- For Entrenchement
Extract the user folder to your desktop.
Rename the username folder to the proper user
name.
Drag the renamed folder to your c:\ drive.
Let the folder overwrite everything (it will
basically just place the map file in the right
folder nothing will be really overwritten).
The Babylon 5 map should show in the Galaxy Forge
list while trying to select the map.

\Old readme
This is the Single Planet edition of the Babylon
5 galaxy for Sins of a Solar Empire. Each planet
is named and placed according to the Galaxy map
presented in the 2nd Edition Babylon 5 RPG by
Mongoose Publishing. There are also some extra
planets from the Vorlon and Shadow factbook, and
the Rim. Both books are also from Mongoose
Publishing
The starting Homeworlds are:
Earth for the Earth Alliance
Homeworld for the Narn Regime
Centauri Prime for the Centauri Republic
Vorlon Homeworld for the Vorlon Empire
Minbar for the Minbari Federation
Z'ha'dum for the Shadow Dominion
Norsa for the Minbari Protectorate
Golia for the Golians
Lumat for the Lumati

There are 289 entities on the map, with over 150
planets to dominate. Play against 9 opponents
to see which race may call itself master
of the galaxy, or in true B5 style create an
Interstellar Alliance and kick the grand powers
out of your galaxy!
\end old readme
^
Ignore this, I added some extra funnies. Some
are not connected to the regular universe yet.
Oh, and don't get lost in Hyperspace searching
for that special hidden world.

\old readme
There are 38 different starting points, each
representing a race from the Babylon5 universe.

The central sun is just there because every map
needs one star to begin with, it really serves no
function on this map. It is linked to two other
solar systems, which are a tribute to the late
Richard Biggs and Andreas Katsulas, who went
beyond the rim before their time.

This is the Single Planet final edition, each race
starts out with just one world, the rest is up to
you. The players all start with 3000 Money, 800
Metal and 250 Crystal. Players who start at Z'ha'dum
get a bonus, and start with 8000 Money, 1475 Metal
and 1100 Crystal. This has been done in order for
Z'ha'dum players to start researching for Wormhole
technology early one since their world is obscured
from the rest of the galaxy behind three wormholes.

What to expect in future releases (still...):
Babylon 5 Imperial Edition
* A new file included which starts every empire
with his own colony worlds, which means 'Centauri'
empire players start out with a whopping 23 planets
under their control. Just watch out for your Narn
neighbours!
* Different starting credits for each of the Homeworlds.
The larger your starting empire, the less cash you
receive. The more advanced races might even start out
with some artifacts...

Wishes:
A full fledged Babylon 5 mod voor SoaSE, B5 deserves to
be made into a mod, and look at the excellent work that's
out there for games like Nexus, Freespace 2 and X3:
Reunion. At least you got the map to play with now. :)
