Hi, thanks for trying out my meters, I hope you like them.

But, before you try them, be sure to install the digital.ttf font, and unzip and install the quadaptor.ttf font (in the Extras folder of this archive). I don't know what would happen if you loaded one of these configs without installing these fonts, but it wouldn't be pretty. It is a good idea to restart ObjectDock and/or AveDesk after installing the fonts.

(To install a font just drop the file in your fonts folder, usually located C:\WINDOWS\Fonts\)

Much appreciation and good thoughts to Judge for SysStats and his disk activity script. You, sir, rock.

Thanks also to Chris Hoffmann for his permission to use his awesome AutoScaling Network Meter docklet/script. The network meter here is basically just a skin of his work. Download his docklet at:

http://www.dockex.com/index.php?pageId=docklets&dkview=80

ChrisTH's docklet comes with extensive instructions for customizing this docklet if you have more than one network card. My instructions only cover the basics so go get his too!

I assume some familiarity with SysStats and AveDesk or ObjectDock on your part.
To use these meters, extract the SysStats folder from this archive into your Docklets folder.
Then create a new SysStats item, then browse to BlisterPackConfigs and select one.
SAVE THE CONFIGURATION UNDER A NEW NAME. That way if you tweak it beyond recognition, which I encourage(!), you'll have the original handy.

****************************************************************

These configs should work with no additional tweaking:
Blister_Clock
Blister_Clock_and_Date
Blister_CPU_and_RAM
Blister_CPU_Arc
Blister_RAM_Arc

****************************************************************

These configs require Motherboard Monitor:
Blister_CPU_and_MBM
Blister_MBM

If you can get MBM set up, you can probably get these going in your sleep. If it displays numbers from the wrong sensor, go to the Meters tab and configure the Current Temp, Minimum Temp, and Maximum Temp meters to a different sensor.

****************************************************************

The hard drive status meters:
Blister_HDD_Status_Arc
Blister_HDD_Status_Bar

These will work, I think, right out of the box. But if you have more than one hard drive, or partitions, and want to monitor them all, you'll need to configure them (one time only, is worth it!) for drives other than C:/. Remember to save each meter under a different name.

Go to the meters tab in the Configure SysStats GUI.
Select the HDD GB Used meter and click configure. Browse to the hard drive or partition and select it.
Repeat that step with the HDD % Used and the HDD GB Free meters.
Now select the HDD Activity meter. Click configure. Click configure.
If you will be monitoring a partition, select Logical Disk in the Performance Object: drop down. If you will be monitoring an actual, physical, unpartitioned hard drive, select Physical Disk from the Performance Object: drop down.
On the left select the % Disk Time counter, on the right select the partition or drive to be monitored. Click OK (don't click cancel!)
Whew. One more step. Go to the Overlays tab and select the HDD Name Text overlay. Click configure and edit the format field to reflect the name of the drive/partition you will monitor.
That's it! Do some stuff and watch the indicators flash.

The Network Traffic Meter:
Blister_Net_Traffic (natch)

For more extensive, and illustrated instructions, get the original docklet!

http://www.dockex.com/index.php?pageId=docklets&dkview=80

If you have just one network card, setup is pretty easy.
Go to the meters tab in the Configure SysStats GUI.
Select the NIC1 Tx meter. Click configure, click configure.
Select Network Interface from the Performance Object: drop down.
On the left select Bytes Sent/sec, on the right select your card, and click OK.
Repeat for the NIC1 Rx meter, this time selecting Bytes Received/sec on the left and your card again on the right.
That should do it.

Notes for ObjectDock users

These configs may appear distorted, or stretched, on docks:
Blister_MBM
Blister_HDD_Status_Bar
Blister_Clock

You might prefer the distortion. If you don't, right click on the docklet and select size. Enter 128 as the Height.

There is a matching dock background in the Extras folder. Put the BlisterBackground folder into your ObjectDock\Backgrounds\ folder and select the Blister Pack background from your Configure Dock GUI.

I experienced some very strange crashes of ObjectDock while creating/playing with these. Sometimes it will crash, and when you reload it will change the fonts to MS Sans Serif--permanently, as in altering the config files. /shrug. Don't know what to say. It's pretty rare, seems to happen when SysStats docklets are on more than one dock, but I can't really re-create it. Make backups of highly customized meters, especially if you are using ObjectDock.

****************************************************************

Notes for AveDesk users

These meters are perfect for Avedesk. The only time I got AveDesk to crash when playing with these was when I changed the order of the overlays on the meters which use vbs scripts (Net Traffic and HDD Status meters). Don't change the order of meters or overlays in those configs.

Included in the Extras folder of this archive are custom label backgrounds. Put the BlisterLabel folder in your AveDesk\Labels\ folder. I liked using the Quadaptor font in my labels, too.
