My second released LiteSTEP b0.24.6 [two four point six] Theme.
** Newer! and More Improved! re-hash of a bad idea...;) **

Remember the Commodore CBM 64?
64k RAM...wow!
No hard drive...gee!
5.25" floppy & cassette tape drives...gosh!

Nostalgia...

This theme revives the feel of the old '64, at least until you
 actually pop up a window...

Great to leave up and running on your work computer while you're
away from your desk, and really confuse system administrators...:)

                  *** Changes since Amendment 2 ***

Re-worked to utilise Current Dev. release of LiteSTEP [2 January 2001],
but using some alternate modules, such as jdesk.dll.

WARNING! This is a development build, and is therefore NOT necessarily bug-free,
although I have found it so.

Now, any left mouse click on the desktop will auto-load desired colour
 configuration...look, mum, no hands!...;)
*** You may have to recycle as well to get colours to load ***
[The colours are set by !bang commands and stored in the modules.ini].
New Rainmation.dll version - the flashing cursor is a shortcut to Explorer.exe.
The theme will work on any resolution from 640x480 to 1600x1200, AND any colour
depth, as long as the appropriate wall is used to suit.
[Try not to use a different wall, as the effect WILL be lost, obviously].
The best way to configure all of your proggies is to create and place copies of
all of their shortcuts into the \games, \office, \system, etc. directories
provided, and they can be neatly accessible via the popup menu.
The running tasks are now accessible via popup entry [and tab-key as usual in Windows].
Now 4 virtual windows, to be a bit more useful.

                  *** Changes since Amendment 1 ***

Now using true CBM64 font....:)
Did away with buggy textshortcuts.
Reduced font size in all modules to allow better space utilization,
and popups are now adaptive width.
Updated version releases of LiteSTEP.exe and modules to last Fully-stable
 release...[Nov. '99].
Switched to LiteSPAWN.exe as shell switcher for Windows2000.
Syscolor amended to colour some parts previously missed-[Don't use WindowBlinds]
Path convention for LiteSTEP adhered to, and set in Step.rc to enable simple
installation location changes, meaning that it is easy to set this theme in a
directory other than the default [c:\litestep]...:)

Utilizes "KISS" principle....KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID. :)

Includes:-
Winamp shortcuts [Geekamp], Popups, Chronos, SysVWM, LSXCommand,
Start up, wait, and shutting down screens to replace default Windows 9x/ME,
 Econsole [transparent Dos editor],and LiteSPAWN.exe [shell-switcher].

Blinking cursor provided by Rainmation module.
Date & Time provided by Chronos module.

For 'any' screen Resolution and colour depth.

  *ALL* files included.

WindowBlinds skin is now not needed, as colours are controlled by
Syscolor.dll module. So if you have WB, don't load it, and if you
don't have it, you won't be loading it NEway, will you?...;)

ALL graphics [Paint Shop Pro v6.0] by yours' truly.

INSTALLATION:
******************************************************************
* USE the RTFM method of installation..... *
******************************************************************
Boot into Explorer - [standard Windows Shell].
Rename existing LiteSTEP directory so that it will not be overwritten,
or at least backup your Step.rc & Modules.ini.
Install Commodore64.zip into C:\Commodore 64, or any other directory
if you already have a c:\litestep directory and don't want to overwrite it.
Of course you will then have to edit the Step.rc specifically to point to
 this 'other' directory.....
You must use 800/1024/1280/ etc.bmp wallpapers as appropriate [they auto-load],
or else the simulation of the '64 is lost.

For Win9x/ME...
Copy logo.sys [animated] [in litestep\docs] to your c:\ directory [root].
Copy logow.sys and logos.sys to your windows directory, backing-up
existing default windows screens if preferred.
In Step.rc, comment out Win2000 start menu popup lines and use Win9x/ME lines.

For Win2000...
No changes to config needed....done automatically.

Reboot.
At the LiteSPAWN menu, choose LiteSTEP [auto defaults to Explorer
but that can be changed] or choose 'Other" and point LiteSPAWN to the
 directory you installed this into.
Configure and modify popups in step.rc to suit your programs as needed.
The font is 'cbm64.ttf' and is included in Zip. Install in c:\windows\fonts
 directory.
It is a free authentic CBM64 font, NOT included as a standard part of Windows.

Colours are:- Screen: FF0000 or 255 000 000 in BGR [Dark blue]
	Lettering & Border: FF8484 or 255 132 132 in BGR [Light blue]
the light colour used: FFB5B5 or 255 181 181 in BGR [Lighter blue]

All the relevant modules' .txt files are included, as is the Manual.html.

E X P L A N A T I O N :

Bottom Left of screen:
Tasks toggle-show - via hot spot...just move mouse there.
Bottom Right of screen:
Systray toggle-show - via hot spot...just move mouse there.
Left of screen:
	Chronos clock displaying month/day/hour/min.
	WinAMP controls -	Previous Song
				Play
				Pause
				Stop
				Next Song
Volume - click Up or Down Arrows [repeatedly]
				Open Playlist/Folder
LOAD '*.*',8,1 line:
LSxCommand.dll command launch bar...just type in !bang commands or
proggy names to launch, etc. Read Docs for more details.
Blinking cursor:
Launch Explorer - just left-click mouse there.
A right-click on the cursor will pop-up a configuration menu if needed.

This build is fully stable [using Windows2000, Pentium111/500,
& 256meg ram, DiamondViper770 32meg Video and Soundblaster128 Live],
using the included versions of the program files & modules.
It has also been run on WindowsME, with the same box, and will therefore be OK
 on 95 and 98 too.
It is safe to assume inferior results if older and/or newer .dll
versions are used or mixed. LiteSTEP can get a tad temperamental if
 you just use any=old module.

Hope ya like it.

Remember, LiteSTEP doesn't kill Computers, people do....:)

"JAFO" is Airforce/Navy derrogatory slang for an Observer [co-pilot].
[The movie "Blue Thunder" with Roy Scheider made reference to the term].

I've worked as an Observer[communications] Official at the Australian
Grand Prix for the past 21 years [and the 500 Motorcycle Grand Prix],
not to mention the first Nascar race outside the U.S., hence the name.

BTW, JAFO = Just Another F**king Observer.
[PPL only ever seem to be aware of the Trackside Flag Marshals, and any
 other Trackside Officials go un-noticed.]
